Steve Carroll
Angler Bio
Steve was born in Washington and raised in the central valley of California. He worked through high school working on the family farm in California and spent the summers fishing the Columbia River basin building his passion for the sport. He enlisted in the Navy right out of high school and was stationed in San Diego, after his term was up he moved to Idaho to pursue a career in mechanical engineering and met his wife Ashly and started a family that now includes a son and two daughters: Camden, Audrey, & Penny.
A couple of years ago Steve bought his first kayak to get introduced into the sport of kayak fishing and spent two summers fishing the local lakes and the Snake River system for bass and catfish. He started his tournament career with a 3rd place finish on CJ Strike Reservoir and recently took 1st place in the KBF Northwest regional challenge which qualified him for the national kayak bass fishing championship in 2017. He partnered with Alpenglow as a brand ambassador for Jackson Kayak and fishes from the Cuda 12 and representing Jackson Kayak. He loves to target White Sturgeon in the Snake River system and has hooked, fought, and landed multiple sturgeon from the Cuda 12 with the largest being over 6ft. Steve recently set a new Idaho state catch and release record for Largemouth Bass with a 22” bucketmouth.
Steve’s love of fishing and the support of his family have helped him make the decision to begin kayak fishing professionally.
